Back from our last getaway of the summer. Such beauty.
Today was the only day in April that we had nothing scheduled all day. Heaven.
On a sunny day up here, I want to be outside. We decided to check out Cherry Creek Falls right outside of Duvall, WA. It’s a hilly five-mile hike without any signage but we made it! We walked at least an extra half mile trying to find the falls but I’m proud of the kids for sticking with it. The trail is beautiful and the falls were totally worth the trip. My senses are sated.
Have a great week.
I’m so glad the kids are old enough to enjoy winter activities! I decided this year we would tackle snowshoeing as a family for the first time. Knowing very little, I talked to some active friends, bought a guide book, found great deals on snowshoes via Craigslist and Costco and crossed my fingers. We chose this route as our first because it’s pretty flat and not too far from home. (If you go, make sure to purchase a Sno-Park pass before parking along the road at Gold Creek.)
We went about 3 miles roundtrip, with the help of 2-3 M&Ms every half mile, and it was worth every step. The highlight was making our way down to Mardee Lake. There is a boardwalk trail all around it and the views were breathtaking. We couldn’t have asked for a better first snowshoe adventure.
Post-It notes are a staple stocking stuffer in our house. It’s nice to see my 6-year-old son is already putting his to good use with this to-do list.
1. Make a comic
2. Build a jet pack
3. Stay single (This is tough. The 1st grade girls love him.)
4. Get a pet dog
5. Invent a teleporter (drawn not written)
