Seek And Find On The Olympic Peninsula

Sequim is one of my favorite day trips. It’s about 2 hours from my house but getting there includes a beautiful ferry ride. My parents are thinking of retiring there so each time they visit we make a point to go and explore the area. As I mentioned in my previous post, we are trying to visit state parks when we can this summer and the Olympic Peninsula has some amazing ones. Fort Worden is a former army installation that still has beautiful original buildings that serve as dormitories and museums for visitors. It also has a great marine museum with impressive touch tanks. During our visit, we happened upon the Festival of American Fiddle Tunes there and enjoyed hearing great music from musicians on porches jamming with one another. The best part of Fort Worden has to be the geocache we found. The concrete structures that served as armories back in the day are at the highest point in the park and have amazing views. There are many great hiding places there and the kids had a blast hunting.

There were so many pretty parts of the day. If you haven’t been to Port Townsend or Sequim, I highly recommend it.

Thanks for reading!
