Hot Chocolate 15K in Seattle

When I booked this 9.3-mile race, I hadn’t run a 5K in months. It’s great to be on the other side of it feeling sore but strong. A couple of girlfriends and I booked a hotel room close to the start line and enjoyed a ladies night and a good sleep before the run. The weather was perfect. The course was hilly but had great views all along the way. We started at the Seattle Center, ran to Pike Place Market, then headed north on Highway 99 to the zoo and back. There were aid stations serving flavored marshmallows and tootsie rolls along the way. The swag was excellent! Each runner receives a cute fleece jacket, a great medal and a cup of fondue yumminess after the race. One more long run before my half! After today, I know I can do it. What goals are you working toward?
